CASSIE SCOTT
Lynchburg native. ACC champion. Collegiate coach. Lifelong runner.
Cassie moved to Lynchburg at eight years old and fell in love with the small-town vibes and the area's amazing running culture. She ran for E.C. Glass High School, where she set multiple school records across various distances, and carried that momentum to North Carolina State University. At NC State she specialized in the 800 meters and was part of an ACC Championship cross country team.
After college, Cassie coached at the collegiate level for a number of years, finding tremendous success at both the Division III and Division I levels. She eventually returned to Lynchburg and dabbled in local races of every distance — from 5Ks to 50-milers and beyond.
These days Cassie enjoys hiking and walking along all the trails Lynchburg has to offer, as well as crushing deadlift maxes at CrossFit Lynchburg.

Lynchburg Running & Racing grew out of Cassie's deep roots in Central Virginia running — a single place to discover the routes, races, clubs, and community that make the region special.
